Letter from the Secretary-General

Dear delegates, advisors, parents, and future diplomats:

It is my pleasure and honor to invite you to the inaugural Yale Model United Nations Dubai, taking place from January 12th to January 14th, 2024, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I am delighted to serve as Secretary-General for a conference that is dedicated to values of education, excellence, and teamwork. Rest assured, myself and several other Yale students are working extremely hard to plan a conference that showcases the best that Yale has to offer.

YMUN Dubai promises to be an unforgettable experience for delegates and advisors both in and out of committee. At YMUN Dubai, hundreds of high school students will discuss pressing global issues in the same classrooms that have inspired presidents, prime ministers, and policymakers from around the world.

During the three days of YMUN Dubai, our main goal is to challenge you to think critically and engage deeply. In our various committees, you'll dive into historical conflicts, explore how the world responds to humanitarian crises, and work together to find common ground on current global events. You'll draft and pass numerous resolutions addressing a wide range of global challenges, all while developing your leadership and teamwork skills that are so vital for the leaders of tomorrow.
